FEATURED CRAFT BEER

BY MIKE PUCKETT

So you voted and we heard loud and clear. This is one of San Diego’s top breweries. Take a look back soon and check out the review with high resolution photography. Enjoy!

Below is from their website…

San Diego Brewing Co.  opened in 1993 and is one of San Diego’s original breweries. Working on a 7 barrel system, our brewer creates a great selection of house brews right here on the premises, all available on tap. In addition, we offer a large selection of beers from local breweries as well as from across the country and around the world. With up to 50 beers on tap and a nice selection of wine and spirits, we have something for every taste.

We are also a family-friendly full service restaurant offering a nice variety of menu items as well as a child’s menu. With 17 flat screens and 2 ginormous projection TV’s strategically placed throughout the restaurant, there isn’t a bad seat in the house for viewing sports. We have two of the latest versions of Golden Tee Golf, two pinball machines and a Touchtunes® jukebox connected to a state of the art sound system. For more information use the navbar above.

Good Eats says you need to taste the beers below at San Diego Brewing Company…

San Diego El ‘Hefe’weizen
4.5% ABV
A wheat beer brewed with Bavarian yeast, this beer has the classic characteristics of a European Hefeweizen such as clove and banana aroma. Served unfiltered this beer will quench your thirst on those hot summer days. (ABV 4.5)
San Diego Amber
5.5% ABV
Our signature beer and our best seller, this beer has started more meals and conversations than any other at the Brewing Company! This red ale is a well-balanced beer, not too sweet and not too hoppy with a beautiful copper color and an extremely smooth finish. (ABV 5.5)
Infinitude Double IPA
8.5 ABV
This India Pale Ale has great hop flavor imparted by the variety of hops used in the brew. You’ll find the usual Cascade, Centennial and Columbus hops for the distinctive citrus/grapefruit aroma and flavors. We also added some Simcoe for a nice hint of pine. We used the same hop varieties in the dry hopping to give it a pleasantly assertive but not overpowering bitter finish. The reasonable ABV makes this brew easy to drink and endlessly refreshing! (ABV 8.5)
