Lucha Libre Taco Shop is located really close to the airport right off the 5 on Washington Street. This is no ordinary taco shop, oh no! Lucha Libre is so much more. Three brothers, who were born in Mexico and raised in San Diego, launched this gourmet taco shop back in 2008.

The first thing that stands out as you walk up to the Lucha Libre is the line-up. And, like all other great eateries in San Diego, that is just a part of the fun unless you can find those very select off times. And I mean a very select few.

Once you get inside, the arena is awesome! It’s decorated with extremely vibrant colors and cool Mexican wrestling art. There’s even a private booth you can reserve for you and your lady friend on that special night.

The burritos and tacos are the bomb. That is pretty much all I need to say about that. Take your pick of whatever style you like best and you will be pleased. I always go with the Surf and Turf, my personal favorite. Then, I douse it with their super-secret chipotle sauce and… boom goes the dynamite off the top ropes!

Although portions at the Lucha Libre Taco Shop are huge, you really should get a “TJ” Dog as well. The “TJ” Dog is the same as those found across the border, but made to American standards. I must say this all-beef hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped off with grilled vegetables is right off the charts!

This the perfect place to go after a long flight for a great burrito and a beer. Lucha Libre For Life.
