Eureka! is located in UTC as an addition to the UTC Westfield near Macy’s. My first impression of the restaurant is: Wow! Just walking up from the front you can tell that whatever is going on inside is something I want to be a part of!

On Monday night, I stopped by Eureka! to watch the game with a friend of mine. I learned, to my delight, that it was San Diego Beer Week and craft beers from Mother Earth Brew Co. were on the house! So, we nestled up to the bar and … let the games begin!

Treat yourself to walk around to check out the beautiful décor and take in the vibrant atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to watch a sporting event or just hang out with friends.

We asked the bartender what apps he suggested and I’m glad we did! We ordered the Truffle Cheese Fries, a tasty blend of French fries topped with a creamy Havarti truffle sauce and green onions. I suggest you try it as it goes REALLY well with the craft beers. That’s if you can choose from the over 40 craft beers they have on tap!

Now for the burgers I have heard so much about! Health-conscious foodies will be happy to know that the meat in these burgers is from 100% vegetarian-fed, hormone and antibiotic free, all-natural beef.

My stomach is only so big, so we limited our selection to The Original Eureka! and the Jalepeno Egg Burger. The Original Eureka! Burger was topped with iceberg lettuce, pickles, red onion, tomato, special sauce and served with the signature hand cut fries. The Jalepeno Egg Burger, a fried egg on top of cheddar cheese, bacon, spicy chipotle sauce and pickled jalapenos, was delicious and filling. It’s hard to choose which one I liked the best, but if I had to, the Jalepeno Egg Burger would win. Not for the faint of heart, this delightful burger is spicy hot without being overbearing. Both burgers were out-of –this-world! And I’ll definitely be back to try the Bone Marrow Burger, Pearl Street Blues Burger and the Catalina Bison Burger as they all sound wonderfully unique.

We ordered a couple of Mother Earth’s Craft Beers and, of course, dessert. You must try to save room or at least get one to share with the table. I had the Butterscotch Rum Pudding topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce and flaky sea salt. Delectable! The rich and creamy butterscotch accented with the sea salt made a combination that leads me to believe I need to start eating more butterscotch! What a night! Eureka! is my kinda restaurant.
