Puesto Mexican Street Food is an upscale fast-casual eatery that serves authentic Mexican food made from fresh, healthy ingredients. Puesto has two locations, Downtown and La Jolla. La Jolla being my hood, I frequent that location more, but the downtown spot is more accommodating if you’re looking for a bigger, more festive, environment.

The best day for visiting Puesto’s is Tuesday as they offer street tacos and MexiCanned beer specials. There’s nothing like enjoying a cold beer and savoring delicious street tacos while watching the passers-by on Wall St.

I definitely recommend the street tacos, specifically the Cochinita Pibil made with slow-roasted, ancho chile marinated pork, pickled red onions and tomatillo raja. The fresh ingredients and succulent pork make this taco a masterpiece! I suggest you sample the Filet Mignon Carnitas and Yellowtail Asada tacos as well.
